Quarry by Simon Perry

Quarry plays with both form and words; a wolf emerges out of the stone block from which it’s hewn (Source: Vivacity). It is made of limestone and was acquired by the city in 1987.

This sculpture is found at the end of the southern side of Peterborough Rowing Course, clumped together with two other public sculptures, Jane Ackroyd's Little Prince and Gibson, Lee and Whatley's Regeneration. I visited all three sculptures one recent weekend by walking a long way via Ferry Meadows with my older son. The weather was threatening with rain as we went there but only got drenched midway on our way back to Ferry Meadows.

All photos were taken with a micro four thirds camera (https://amzn.to/2K8BUl6) attached with a telephoto zoom lens (https://amzn.to/2YvqiMJ).
